Regular Season Round 6: Puerto Montt - CD Castro 91-77

The most important game in the last round took place in Puerto Montt between second ranked CD Castro (4-3) and twelfth ranked Puerto Montt (2-3) on Sunday night. CD Castro was defeated by Puerto Montt on the road 91-77. Puerto Montt had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Louis Munks (190-90, college: Prairie View A&M) scored 31 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Mike Phillips (201-90, college: Howard) chipped in 24 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Carlos Sepulveda Fredes (195-83) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. CD Castro's coach M De La Fuente rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puerto Montt moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Puente Alto. CD Castro at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Osorno. Puerto Montt is looking forward to face Tinguiririca S.F. (#7) in San Fernando in the next round. CD Castro will play at home against Osorno Basquetbol (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
