Regular Season Round 5: KTP Basket - Helsinki Seagulls 75-82

An interesting game for Helsinki Seagulls (4-0) which played road game in Kotka against 4th placed KTP-Basket (2-3). Leader Helsinki Seagulls managed to get a 7-point victory 82-75. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 46-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Helsinki Seagulls shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American swingman Raymond Cowels III (193-90, college: Santa Clara) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. The former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 12 points and 7 assists for the winners. Helsinki Seagulls' coach Mikko Larkas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaica-American power forward Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) answered with 26 points and 7 rebounds and American Monyea Pratt (196-85, college: Stillman, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for KTP-Basket. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Helsinki Seagulls have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Salon Vilpas. KTP-Basket at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Helsinki Seagulls is looking forward to face Kouvot (#7) in Kouvola in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KTP-Basket will have a break next round.
