Regular Season Round 4: Haukar - Snaefell 42-69

Dominos League top team - Snaefell (3-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Haukar (1-3) in Hafnarfjordur 69-42. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Haukar to just 7 points in second quarter. Snaefell forced 19 Haukar turnovers. The winners were led by international guard Gunnhildur Gunnarsdottir (176-90) who scored that evening 23 points and American point guard Taylor Brown (170-93, college: George Mason) supported her with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Snaefell's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American guard Michelle Mitchell (175, college: Columbus St.) did not help to save the game for Haukar. Forward Rosa Bjork Petursdottir (174-97) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for lost side. Snaefell have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Haukar at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Grindavik. Snaefell will play against league's second-placed Stjarnan at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Haukar will play against Skallagrimur (#5) in Borganes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
