Regular Season Round 9: Gunma - Cyberdyne IR 81-69

An interesting game for Gunma (7-2) which hosted in Gunma 3rd placed Cyberdyne IR (5-4). First ranked Gunma managed to get a 12-point victory 81-69. The game was mostly controlled by Gunma. Cyberdyne IR was better in fourth quarter 28-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunma well out of reach of Cyberdyne IR shooting 76.3 percent from the field and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Cyberdyne IR was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) stepped up and scored 19 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and Nigeria forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) with 16 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Yuki Yamaguchi (166-86, college: Pfeiffer) scored 11 points. Cyberdyne IR's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-2 record, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Kumamoto V. Cyberdyne IR at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They share it with Fukushima and Yamagata. Gunma will again play against Cyberdyne IR (#4) in Tsukuba in the next round. Cyberdyne IR will have a break next round.
