Regular Season Round 5: Katy Wroclawskie - Sudety 65-77

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Katy Wroclawskie (1-4) lost at home to sixth ranked Sudety (3-2) 77-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sudety. Katy Wroclawskie was better in second period 16-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game, while Katy Wroclawskie only scored seven points from the stripe. Power forward Pawel Minciel (203-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Jaroslaw Wilusz (200-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Sudety players scored in double figures. Lukasz Malinowski (195-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Slawomir Dzwilewski (193-84) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Katy Wroclawskie. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Sudety moved-up to fifth place in Group D, which they share with Koscian and WKK Wroclaw. Newly promoted Katy Wroclawskie dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Sudety will have a break next round. Katy Wroclawskie will play at home against Gimbasket WRC (#3) and hope to win that game.
