Regular Season Round 9: Kumamoto V. - Ehime OV 83-71

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (7-2) which hosted in Kumamoto 4th placed Orange Vikings (4-5). Third ranked Kumamoto V. managed to get a 12-point victory 83-71. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Orange Vikings. The game was mostly controlled by Kumamoto V.. Orange Vikings was better in fourth quarter 30-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) who scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and French forward Remi Barry (203-91, college: N.Mexico St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Kumamoto V.. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Gunma. Orange Vikings at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. Kumamoto V.'s next round opponent will be again Orange Vikings (#4) in Matsuyama.
