Regular Season Round 3: Zabok - Skrljevo 88-80

Very expected game when KK Skrljevo (0-3) was defeated on the road by KK Zabok (1-1) 88-80 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But KK Skrljevo won second period 18-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KK Zabok forced 19 KK Skrljevo turnovers. KK Skrljevo was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for guard Sven Smajlagic (195-90, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Roko Jurlina (196-93) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Five KK Zabok players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was swingman Davor Konjevic (197-90) with 31 points and power forward Ivan Vodopija (202-93) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. KK Zabok will face Kvarner (#13) in Rijeka in the next round. KK Skrljevo will play at home against Cibona and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
