Regular Season Round 5: AZS KU PO - Zaglebie 84-75

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked AZS KU PO (3-1) beat 11th ranked Zaglebie (1-4) in Opole 84-75 on Saturday. Zaglebie was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 28-15 charge of AZS KU PO, which allowed them to win the game. Point guard Krzysztof Chmielarz (180-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 assists. Bartosz Koszela (201-89) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four AZS KU PO players scored in double figures. Power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) added 16 points and 6 assists in the effort for Zaglebie. AZS KU PO moved-up to third place in Group C, which they share with Rybnik. Loser Zaglebie keeps the eleventh position with four games lost. AZS KU PO will face Przemysl (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zaglebie will play against MKS DG 2 in Dabrowa Gornicza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
