Regular Season Round 8: CD Castro - Osorno 80-71

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Osorno Basquetbol (5-4) against fifth ranked CD Castro (5-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Osorno Basquetbol was defeated by CD Castro in a tough game in Castro 71-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Osorno Basquetbol. Osorno Basquetbol trailed by 19 points at halftime and as many as 25 after three quarters before a 28-12 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. CD Castro outrebounded Osorno Basquetbol 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. The winners were led by forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 5 rebounds by forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) did not help to save the game for Osorno Basquetbol. Forward Deangelo Kirkland (203, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Osorno Basquetbol's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. CD Castro moved-up to third place, which they share with Osorno. CD Castro will meet league's second-placed Espanol de Talca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osorno Basquetbol will play against Puente Alto and hope to secure a win.
