Regular Season Round 3: Lavrio - Trikalla 86-56

Lavrio used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Trikallon 86-56 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Lavrio. Aiolos Trikallon was better in fourth quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lavrio forced 21 Aiolos Trikallon turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. Lavrio looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Aiolos Trikallon's players. Aiolos Trikallon was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Kevin Punter (188-93, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. His fellow American import forward Tyren Johnson (202-88, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Lavrio players scored in double figures. Lithuania Gilvydas Biruta (203-91, college: Rhode Island) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Kelsey Barlow (196-91, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 17 points in the effort for Aiolos Trikallon. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lavrio will face AGOR (#3) in Rethymno in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aiolos Trikallon will play at home against AEK Athens (#1) and hope to win that game.
