Regular Season Round 10: Gunma - Cyberdyne IR 88-79

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Gunma (8-2) beat at home 4th ranked Cyberdyne IR (5-5) 88-79 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-79. Gunma had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cyberdyne IR was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Nigeria forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) had a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) chipped in 25 points during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Logan Stutz (205-88, college: Washburn) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. Cyberdyne IR's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gunma have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-2 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Cyberdyne IR keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Gunma will face league's second-placed Fukushima on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cyberdyne IR will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
