No shocking result in a game in Helsinki where third ranked Espoo Basket (3-1) won against 9th ranked Munkkiniemen (1-3) 63-57 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 18-9 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Gambia center Baboucarr Ceesay (197-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American swingman Justice Graham (198-79, college: Glenville St.) who added 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Espoo Basket players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Miika Heinonen (193-99) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Pyry Marttinen (184-99) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Munkkiniemen's coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Espoo Basket maintains third position in Division with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader PuHu Juniorit. Newly promoted Munkkiniemen dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Espoo Basket will face HyPo (#5) in Hyvinkaa in the next round. Munkkiniemen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Helsinki to the arena HNMKY U23.
