No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Toros (3-2) beat 6th ranked Barreteros (1-4) in Nuevo Laredo 76-70. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and the former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Toros maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. Barreteros lost fourth consecutive game. Barreteros at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth place with four games lost. They share the position with Indios. Toros will play against Santos (#6) in San Luis Potosi in the next round. Barreteros will play at home against Garzas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
