Regular Season Round 4: Tindastoll - Njardvik 100-72

Very expected game when 9th ranked Njardvik (1-3) was smashed by fifth ranked Tindastoll (3-1) in Sauoarkrokur 100-72 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 29-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tindastoll dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 34. They outrebounded Njardvik 46-25 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Njardvik's players. The winners were led by Senegalese-Spanish power forward Mamadou Samb (210-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Bjorgvin Rikhardsson (175-93) supported him with 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Corbin Jackson (198, college: Florida Tech) did not help to save the game for Njardvik. His fellow American import point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) added 15 points (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tindastoll have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Thor Thorl. Loser Njardvik dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Tindastoll will meet Keflavik (#7) on the road in the next round. Njardvik will play against Skallagrimur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
