Everything could happen in Podgorica at the game between two tied teams. Both top-ranked Montenegrin Buducnost and 7th ranked Bulgaria Montana 2003 had identical 2-0 record. This time Buducnost used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Montana 67-46 on Thursday night. The game was mostly controlled by Buducnost. Montana 2003 managed to win fourth quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Buducnost held Montana 2003 to an opponent 23.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 37.7 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Montana 2003 47-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Irena Matovic (186-88) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian swingman Kristina Topuzovic (183-94, agency: BeoBasket) who added 11 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Buducnost's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Charel Allen (181-86, college: Notre Dame) responded with 8 points and 8 rebounds and her fellow American import center Leeza Burdgess (194-90, college: La Salle) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Buducnost have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Montenegrin champion maintains sixth position in B with 3-0 record. Defending Bulgaria champion Montana 2003 keeps the seventh place with one game lost. They share the position with Athlete Celje. Buducnost will meet Athlete Celje (#8) on the road in the next round. Montana 2003 will play against Badel and hope to secure a win.
