Regular Season Round 4: Gorica - Cedevita 68-88

Very predictable result in Velika Gorica where fourth ranked Cedevita (4-1) smashed bottom-ranked Gorica (0-3) 88-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. Gorica was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cedevita dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gorica's 32. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard David Stockton (180-91, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Cedevita's coach Veljko Mrsic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side Montenegrin point guard Masan Vrbica (190-94, agency: BeoBasket) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists and guard Marko Petrovic (192-91, college: USF) scored 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Cedevita have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Gorica still closes the standings with three games lost. Cedevita will face bottom-ranked KK Skrljevo (#14) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gorica will play against Alkar Sinj and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
