Regular Season Round 6: Paris-Levallois - Chalons-Reims 88-78

The game in Levallois was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Chalons-Reims (3-3) played at the court of eighth ranked Paris-Levallois (4-2). Paris-Levallois defeated Chalons-Reims 88-78 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chalons-Reims. The game was mostly controlled by Paris-Levallois. Chalons-Reims was better in fourth quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Chalons-Reims 42-22 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Jason Rich (191-86) scored 18 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Louis Campbell (190-79, college: Buffalo) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Paris-Levallois' coach Frederic Fauthoux used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Steven Smith (203-83, college: La Salle) with 22 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Mark Payne (203-88, college: Cal-Davis) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Paris-Levallois moved-up to third place, which they share with Chalon and Nanterre. Loser Chalons-Reims dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Paris-Levallois will face Chalon/Saor (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Chalons-Reims will play against Limoges CSP Elite and hope to win that game.
