Regular Season Round 6: Naron - Leon 79-104

Date: October 29, 2016
Everything went according to plan when top-ranked Leon (4-0) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Naron (1-3) 104-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 104-79. Leon forced 19 Naron turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Naron was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was center Matt Wilson (206-92, college: Hartwick, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ted Hinnenkamp (201-93, college: Dickinson, agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Rob Brandenberg (188-92, college: VCU) who recorded 19 points and forward Tim Gill (203-93, college: Clarion) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Leon and four Naron players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leon have a solid four-game winning streak. They used an opportunity after Estudiantes L. lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in Group A-B. Loser Naron keeps the tenth place with three games lost. Leon will face Betanzos (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Naron will play against Innova Chef (#7) in Zamora and hope to win that game.
