Regular Season Round 6: Zarautz Ulacia - Univ.Burgos 70-65

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Univ.Burgos (0-4) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Zarautz Ulacia (3-1) 70-65 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Univ.Burgos was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Zarautz Ulacia forced 20 Univ.Burgos turnovers. Univ.Burgos was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Estanislao Andres (185-90) who scored 17 points. Aitzol Eguskitza (193-90) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was center Gana Ndiaye (208-88) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Victor Arnaiz (195-84) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Zarautz Ulacia moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Univ.Burgos still closes the standings with four games lost. Zarautz Ulacia will face Cantbasket (#4) in Santander in the next round. Univ.Burgos will play at home against Mondragon (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
