Regular Season Round 6: Gijon - Innova Chef 73-74

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Innova Chef and 8th ranked Gijon had identical 1-2 record. But Gijon was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Zamora 74-73 on Saturday night. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Montenegrin center Milo Vukcevic (200-96) chipped in 12 points. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jorge Escapa (198-92) who recorded 17 points and 7 rebounds and Angel Moro added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gijon's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Innova Chef (2-2) moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Ponferrada CDP. Gijon lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Innova Chef will face Naron (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Gijon will play against Vigo VGO and hope to win that game.
