Regular Season Round 6: UCAM Murcia - Gran Canaria 57-76

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked UCAM Murcia (2-4) was rolled over at home by fourteenth ranked Gran Canaria (2-4) 76-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria. UCAM Murcia was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. American-Slovakian swingman Kyle Kuric (193-89, college: Louisville) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and FYR Macedonia-American point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Brazilian center Vitor Faverani (211-88) with 6 points and 8 rebounds and American-Dominican swingman Sadiel Rojas (193-89, college: Okla.Wesleyan) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with UCAM Murcia and CAI Zaragoza. UCAM Murcia lost third consecutive game. Gran Canaria will face higher ranked Sevilla (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
