Regular Season Round 7: Muenster - Hagen-Haspe 91-54

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Muenster (7-1) smashed at home 13th ranked Hagen-Haspe (1-7) 91-54 on Saturday. Muenster forced 25 Hagen-Haspe turnovers and outrebounded them 39-20 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Jan Koenig (201-93) fired 31 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Kai Haenig (205-88, college: Missouri Valley) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Four Muenster players scored in double figures. American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tresor Nsiabandoki (196-88) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Muenster. They keep a position of West leader, which they share with Hagen BG. Hagen-Haspe lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Muenster will face Duesseldorf (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hagen-Haspe will play against Frintrop (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
