Regular Season Round 6: Bernau - Itzehoe 87-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bernau. First ranked SSV Lok Bernau faced second-best Itzehoe. Host SSV Lok Bernau (5-1) defeated guests from Itzehoe (4-2) 87-76. It was a key game for the top position in North. American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW, agency: Dynamics Global Management) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Tim Schneider (207-97) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Kaimyn Pruitt (203-90, college: Adams St.) with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import power forward Stephan Shepherd (206-92, college: Bened.-Springfield) scored 13 points. Four SSV Lok Bernau and five Itzehoe players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SSV Lok Bernau have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted SSV Lok Bernau maintains first position in North with 5-1 record. Loser Itzehoe keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Iserlohn and Bochum. SSV Lok Bernau will meet SC Rist Wedel (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itzehoe will play against RSV Eintracht (#12) and hope to secure a win.
