Regular Season Round 6: Nova Ves - Handlova 71-74

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-71 loss to seventh ranked Handlova (3-3) in Nova Ves. Nova Ves were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Brian Bennett (206-94, college: Cal Poly - SLO) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Cameron Wright (195-92, college: Pittsburgh) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Handlova's coach Lubomir Ruzicka allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Adam Antoni (191-95) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American-Jamaica Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Nova Ves. Four Nova Ves players scored in double figures. Handlova have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Handlova maintains seventh position with 3-3 record. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Nitra. Handlova will play against Rieker KN (#8) in Komarno in the next round. Nova Ves will play on the road against Iskra Svit and look forward to get finally their first victory.
