Regular Season Round 4: TED Kolejliler - Istanbul BBSK 75-96

Istanbul BBSK can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Ankara, where they outplayed TED Kolejliler (0-4) 96-75 on Saturday. They outrebounded TED Kolejliler 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Istanbul BBSK looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bulgaria guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Slovenia swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) who added 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. Istanbul BBSK's coach Ertugrul Erdogan felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American Devin Thomas (206-94, college: Wake Forest) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Shannon Shorter (193-89, college: N.Texas) scored 23 points. Istanbul BBSK (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place. It was TED Kolejliler's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Istanbul BBSK will meet at home higher ranked Usak Sportlif (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TED Kolejliler will play against Yesilgiresun Bld (#10) in Giresun and hopes to get finally their first victory.
