Regular Season Round 9: Niigata R. - Fujitsu RW 54-85

Bottom-ranked Niigata R. is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked Fujitsu RW (5-2) 85-54 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Fujitsu RW led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Fujitsu RW forced 20 Niigata R. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International point guard Rui Machida (161-93) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and international point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) accounted for 18 points and 10 rebounds. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) came up with 14 points and 5 rebounds and forward Inoue Ai (172-90) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Niigata R. in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fujitsu RW. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Chanson V-M. Niigata R. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW and Yamanashi QB. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Niigata R. will play again against Fujitsu RW (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
