Regular Season Round 6: Vigo VGO - Estudiantes L. 64-70

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Vigo VGO (0-4) was defeated at home by top-ranked Estudiantes L. (4-0) 70-64 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 6 points. Vigo VGO was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Dusan Juzbasic (201-99, agency: BeoBasket) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ivorian center Seydou Aboubacar (207-94) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). At the other side the best for losing team was forward Javier Dominguez (198-94) who recorded 14 points and 8 rebounds and American Johnathan Murphy (199-89, college: Columbus St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Estudiantes L. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with Leon. Newly promoted Vigo VGO still closes the standings with four games lost. Estudiantes L. will face La Fecha (#11) in Arroyo Encomienda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vigo VGO will play at home against Gijon and hopes to get finally their first victory.
