Everything could happen in Beer Sheva at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Hapoel B/S and 5th ranked Hap.Haifa had identical 2-1 record. This time Hapoel B/S used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from 81-75 on Tuesday night. Hap.Haifa was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 25-15 charge of Hapoel B/S, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Dudu Shamriz (194-91) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Hapoel B/S's coach Yaniv Burger allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and Puerto Rican swingman David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) added 19 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Hapoel B/S have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi Nes-Ziona. Newly promoted Hap.Haifa dropped to the third position with two games lost. Hapoel B/S will face Galil Elion (#9) in Kazrin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hap.Haifa will play at home against Hapoel Afula (#7) and hope to win that game.
