Dukes UDB's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Leeuwarden (2-4) 76-66 on Thursday. Leeuwarden was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Dukes UDB had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Antwan Scott (188-92, college: Colorado St.) notched 24 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals to lead the effort and point guard Maarten Bouwknecht (185-94) supported him with 25 points and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds by the former international power forward Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan (211-90) did not help to save the game for Leeuwarden. American forward Denton Koon (203-92, college: Hofstra, agency: Court Side) added 9 points and 4 assists. Dukes UDB maintains seventh position with 1-5 record. Loser Leeuwarden dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Dukes UDB will meet bottom-ranked Weert (#8) on the road in the next round.
