Very predictable result when seventh ranked Burgos (4-3) won against at home 16th ranked Melilla Baloncesto (2-5) 89-75 on Friday. The game without a history. Burgos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Burgos outrebounded Melilla Baloncesto 37-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Eduardo Martinez (202-90) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. Center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Pedro Rivero (186-79) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Melilla Baloncesto. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Melilla Baloncesto dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Burgos will face league's leader Leyma Basquet in Coruna in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Melilla Baloncesto will play at home against Caceres Basket (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
