Regular Season Round 5: KR - Thor Thorl 75-90

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of KR (4-1) in Reykjavik on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Thor Thorl (4-1) 90-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of KR. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 50-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Thor Thorl dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to KR's 32. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Emil Einarsson (196-94) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international guard Brynjar Bjornsson (188-88, college: Francis Marion) responded with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international forward Sigurdur Thorvaldsson (201-80) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four KR players scored in double figures. Thor Thorl have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated KR. Thor Thorl is looking forward to face league's leader Stjarnan at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KR will play against Thor AK and is hoping to win this game.
