Regular Season Round 11: JX-Eneos S. - Niigata R. 109-38

Undefeated leader JX-Eneos S. delivered the ninth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Niigata R. (0-9) 109-38 in Kashiwa. The game without a history. JX-Eneos S. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Niigata R. to just 7 points in fourth quarter. JX-Eneos S. held Niigata R. to an opponent 23.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.7 percent accuracy of the winners and made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. JX-Eneos S. outrebounded Niigata R. 60-24 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. JX-Eneos S. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). The former international Chie Kibayashi (184-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) answered with 10 points and forward Inoue Ai (172-90) added 5 points in the effort for Niigata R.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JX-Eneos S. (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 9 victories in a row. Niigata R. at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW. JX-Eneos S. will again play against bottom-ranked Niigata R. (#12) in Tokyo in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Niigata R. will have a break next round.
