Regular Season Round 8: Stal II Ostrow - Rawia 69-73

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Stal II Ostrow (6-2) against ninth ranked Rawia (3-4) on Saturday night. Host Stal II Ostrow was defeated by Rawia in a tough game in Ostrow 69-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stal II Ostrow. Strangely Stal II Ostrow outrebounded Rawia 40-21 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Jedrzej Jankowiak (183-83, agency: Promotex) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 5 assists. Swingman Szymon Maciolek (190-91) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Rawia's coach Szymon Pietraszek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Mikolaj Spala (189-93) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Lukasz Olejnik (203-79) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Stal II Ostrow. Four Stal II Ostrow players scored in double figures. Rawia moved-up to eighth place in Group D. Newly promoted Stal II Ostrow keeps the third position with two games lost. Rawia will face Katy Wroclawskie (#9) at home in the next round. Stal II Ostrow will play against Otmuchow (#11) and hope to win that game.
