Regular Season Round 10: Palanga - Petrochema 83-77

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Petrochema (3-7) and Palanga (4-6), which took place in Palanga. 9th ranked Petrochema lost to twelfth ranked Palanga in a road game 77-83 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-20. But Petrochema won second period 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Palanga shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for forward Aurimas Urbonas (198-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. American point guard Jonathan Hudson (180-87, college: Texas A&M) contributed with 23 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Tomas Milinskas (203-90) replied with 18 points and point guard Lukas Grabauskas (194-95) added 8 points and 8 assists in the effort for Petrochema. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palanga moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Vytis. Loser Petrochema dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Palanga will face higher ranked Telsiai (#6) in Telsiu in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Petrochema will play at home against Vytis (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
