Regular Season Round 7: Valls Nutrion - Cerdanyola 88-72

Date: November 5, 2016
There was no surprise when 13th ranked Cerdalyola (1-5) lost on the road to ninth ranked Valls Nutrion (3-3) 88-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 47-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Valls Nutrion outrebounded Cerdalyola 48-33 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for Equatorial Guinea forward Oscar Ngomo (197-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Swingman Alejandro Alba (193-77) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Valls Nutrion players scored in double figures. Guard Albert Salat (191-91) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Genis Tena (186-89) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cerdalyola. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valls Nutrion moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with 4 other teams. Cerdalyola lost their third game in a row. Cerdalyola at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Valls Nutrion will face Igualada (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cerdalyola will play against Barbera in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
