Regular Season Round 8: AZS PS Gliwice - Zaglebie 92-93

There was an upset when higher ranked AZS PS Gliwice (2-5) was edged at home by thirteenth ranked Zaglebie (2-6) 93-92 on Saturday. Zaglebie made 33-of-37 free shots (89.2 percent) during the game, while AZS PS Gliwice only scored eleven points from the stripe. AZS PS Gliwice was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Power forward Jakub Czyz (205-95) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Kamil Wojciak (193-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Krzysztof Wasowicz (183-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and guard Maciej Wasowicz (182-92) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for AZS PS Gliwice. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zaglebie moved-up to eleventh place in Group C, which they share with AZS PCz. Loser AZS PS Gliwice dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
