Regular Season Round 7: Ourense - Marin 74-54

Very expected game when 14th ranked Marin (2-5) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Ourense (4-3) 74-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. Ourense led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Marin's 18. They outrebounded Marin 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for power forward Devin Wright (202-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Naturalized Russia power forward Dmitriy Flis (204-84) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Ourense's coach Gonzalo Garcia used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Tim Derksen (191-94, college: USF) answered with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Jason Cain (208-85, college: Virginia, agency: Stealth Sport) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Marin. Ourense moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Marin lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Ourense will face Palma (#7) in S'Arenal in the next round. Marin will play at home against Cocinas.com (#18) and hope to win that game.
