Very predictable result when first ranked Pardinyes-L. (5-1) edged 7th ranked Vive El Masnou (3-3) in Barcelona 75-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 28-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for guard Sergi Ruiz (190-87) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Pau Lopez (181-84) contributed with 13 points and 5 assists for the winners. Ruiz is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Pardinyes-L. players scored in double figures. Albert Valle Vives (-92) answered with 16 points and guard David Fernandez (187-97) added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Vive El Masnou. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Pardinyes-L.. They maintain first place in Group C-B with 5-1 record, which they share with Palma II and Quart. Loser Vive El Masnou dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face Muro Basquet (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vive El Masnou will play against Palma II (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
