Regular Season Round 7: San Juan - Huelva 65-76

Everything could happen in San Juan del Puerto at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Huelva and 4th placed San Juan had identical 3-1 record. But San Juan was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Huelva 76-65 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group D-B. San Juan was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 29-14 charge of Huelva, which allowed them to win the game. Quite impressive performance for forward Fulgencio Casanova (195-86) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Juan Ignacio Romero (213-73) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Antonio Rodriguez (185-78) answered with 19 points and guard Jose Carrasco (186-94) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for San Juan. Four San Juan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Huelva. They keep a position of Group D-B leader, which they share with ULB OH!TELS and Yosiquese. Loser San Juan keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Huelva will face league's leader Yosiquese in Cordiba in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. San Juan will play at home against ULB OH!TELS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
