Regular Season Round 7: Sant Adria - Barbera 98-82

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Sant Adria (3-3) won against at home 3rd placed Barbera (4-2) 98-82 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 52-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Sant Adria had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Barbera was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Ruben Perez (-94) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Guard Diego Rodriguez (186-90) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Five Sant Adria players scored in double figures. Sant Adria's coach Mario Lousame used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jordi Vall-Llobera (193-83) answered with 26 points (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and point guard Sergio Guardia (188-88) added 17 points and 4 steals in the effort for Barbera. Sant Adria moved-up to fifth place in Group C-B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Barbera dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Sant Adria will face league's second-placed Quart at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Barbera will play against Cerdalyola and hope to win that game.
