Very expected game when bottom-ranked Viten Fuen. (0-7) lost to fourth ranked Tenerife Naut. (5-1) in Madrid 69-77 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Tenerife Naut. shot 25 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Viten Fuen. only scored four points from the stripe. Tenerife Naut. forced 25 Viten Fuen. turnovers. Viten Fuen. was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Cuba power forward Georffri Silvestre (202-79) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 4 steals. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Guillermo Mulero (191-97, agency: Duran International) answered with 21 points and David Cuellar (192-97) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Viten Fuen.Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tenerife Naut. moved-up to third place in Group B. Viten Fuen. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face Azuqueca (#4) at home in the next round. Viten Fuen. will play against CB Guadalajara (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
