Very expected game when 7th ranked Valencia-2 (2-3) lost on the road to third ranked Lliria (4-1) 83-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Lliria outrebounded Valencia-2 35-23 including 20 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for center Candido Matoso (207-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Victor Perez (180-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 assists for the winners. Jon Galarza (193-97) answered with 15 points and swingman Josep Puerto (199-99) added 12 points in the effort for Valencia-2. Valencia-2's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Lliria. They maintain third place in Group E with 4-1 record behind leader Leon, which they share with Paterna. Loser Valencia-2 dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Lliria will face league's leader Myrtia in Murcia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Valencia-2 will play at home against Paterna (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
