Regular Season Round 4: Poitiers - Vichy Clermont 68-75

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked JA Vichy and 13th ranked Poitiers had identical 1-2 record. But Poitiers was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Vichy 75-68 on Saturday night. The game without a history. JA Vichy led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American-Ivorian swingman Derrick Byars (201-84, college: Vanderbilt, agency: Inception Sports) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Dustin Ware (183-90, college: Georgia) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Power forward Mickael Var (205-90) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Drake Reed (194-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Inception Sports) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. JA Vichy (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Poitiers keeps the thirteenth position with three games lost. JA Vichy will face league's second-placed JL Bourg at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Poitiers will play against STB Le Havre (#6) and hope to win that game.
