Regular Season Round 7: Estudiantes B - Villarrobledo 55-71

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Estudiantes B (1-6) lost to twelfth ranked Villarrobledo (3-4) in Madrid 55-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Villarrobledo led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Villarrobledo forced 20 Estudiantes B turnovers and outrebounded them 39-19 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for center Artur Alaminos (205-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Sergio Sanchez (189-81) answered with 21 points and 4 steals and Ukrainian Andriy Grytsak (198-0) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Estudiantes B. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villarrobledo moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Lanzarote. Loser Estudiantes B keeps the fourteenth position with six games lost. Villarrobledo will face Lanzarote (#10) in the next round. Estudiantes B will play against Casvi (#9) in Villaviciosa and hope to win that game.
