Regular Season Round 6: Agustinos-Leclerc - Sammic ISB 76-80

Very expected game when 12th ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (1-5) lost to third ranked Sammic ISB (5-1) in Leon 76-80 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 42-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sammic ISB made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Canadian guard Joe De Ciman (198-94, college: Colorado St.) contributed with 22 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Sammic ISB players scored in double figures. American-Nigeria Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) replied with 22 points and center Sergio De La Fuente (198-89) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Agustinos-Leclerc. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Sammic ISB keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Agustinos-Leclerc lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth place with five games lost. Sammic ISB will face bottom-ranked Zamorano (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Agustinos-Leclerc will play against L'Hospitalet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
