Regular Season Round 7: Santurtzi - Easo 52-42

There was a surprise result when eighth ranked Santurtzi (3-2) defeated at home 3rd placed Easo (3-2) 52-42 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 30-18 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Easo was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Joseba Iglesias (200-83) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Xabier Martin (186-81) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Santurtzi's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Mikel Esnaola (200-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Inigo Del Valle (188-87) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Easo. Santurtzi moved-up to fourth place in Group A-A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Easo. Santurtzi will face Valladolid Univ. (#6) on the road in the next round. Easo will play against TAKE Tolosa and hope to win that game.
