We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Matsuyama where fourth ranked Orange Vikings (5-9) won against one of their biggest challengers Shimane Magic (9-5) 91-83 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-17. But Shimane Magic won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Orange Vikings made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Shimane Magic was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Toshino Yoshihiko (186-92) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Four Orange Vikings players scored in double figures. Guard Jun Abe (177-86) produced 32 points and Yokoo Tatsuhiro (186-85) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Orange Vikings maintains fourth position with 5-9 record. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
