Regular Season Round 7: Soles - Abejas 84-83

The most exciting game of round 7 in the LNBP took place in Mexicali. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Abejas (3-3) to fifth ranked Soles (4-3) 84-83 in the game for the fourth place. Soles made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Abejas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. The former international Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Matt Glover (196-91, college: USF) answered with 22 points and the other American import forward Matt Gwynne (208-87, college: Campbell) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Abejas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Soles moved-up to fourth place. Abejas at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Soles are again looking forward to face Abejas (#5) in Guanajuato in the next round. Abejas will have a break next round.
