The game had a very big importance for second-ranked CB Canarias as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CB Canarias defeated 10th ranked Movil Estudiantes in Tenerife 81-72. Movil Estudiantes was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Fran Vazquez (209-83) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds. Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. French Edwin Jackson (191-89, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 21 points and American forward Dylan Page (204-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Movil Estudiantes. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Movil Estudiantes at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with four games lost. Movil Estudiantes will play next round against Joventut trying to get back on the winning streak. CB Canarias will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Real Madrid on the road.
