Regular Season Round 7: Joventut - Unicaja 82-79

Bottom-ranked Joventut managed to get the second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they edged fourth-ranked Unicaja Malaga in Badalona 82-79. And what about a second win in a row after ...five consecutive losses. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Unicaja Malaga. Unicaja Malaga was trailing by 8 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Joventut, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for point guard Albert Sabat (182-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 8 assists. Serbian forward Luka Bogdanovic (210-85) helped adding 15 points. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Carlos Suarez (203-86, agency: Court Side) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Dejan Musli (213-91, agency: BeoBasket) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Joventut (2-5) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Unicaja Malaga dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Joventut will meet higher ranked Movil Estudiantes (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Unicaja Malaga will play against Dominion BB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
